For maybe $13. I have to go back to try the wine (the list looked excellent). The place was cozy with a trendy yet unpretentious crowd...It reminded me of the marble top cafes in Old San Juan.

I am a sushi obsessed Puertorican so the idea of Latin infused sushi grabbed my attention. However, Sushi-Teq is not sushi. It's something else, something that transcends any sushi experience I've ever had. They fuse Latin flavors with the best quality sushi in Boston. It was ORGASMIC!
The place is small and intimate. I sat across my date (perfect spot for first dates) with the Boston Harbor behind me and an amazing color changing electric wall in front of me. The music is all Latin--salsa beats I haven't heard in ages! I think the date got a bit annoyed when I couldn't stop singing or when I offered the tipsy broad next to me a dance on the floor. I love older women.
But yea, Sushi-Teq is hot. 5 star service (they have 6 stars now don't they?). 6 star service! Oh and the drinks... Delicious! My buddy Wayne Duprey (the man) had me try their fruity-smoothie tequila shot trio. They went down a lot smoother than the Jose Cuervo shots from the night before.
The space used to house an old bank-high ceilings, lots of marble, A VOLT, a HUGE bar and an over all majestic feel to it. I can't wait to go back and check out the food. Downtown Boston was is desperate need of a upscale seafood joint. God knows we have plenty of restaurants with $40 steaks. I was also very impressed by a server giving out glasses of Chardonnay when she gave me an in-depth description of the wine and its taste.
I'm giving Oceanaire 3 stars based on my experienced of the opening. It was super packed. The idea of standing in line for ten minutes for clam chowder in a upscale opening is a bit of oxymoron if you ask me. They also don't have a website, which is a problem with so many restaurants in Boston. Where do you think most people go for information about restaurants? THE INTERNET. I guess for the time being Oceanaire is at the mercy of Yelpers

The music was amazing! It's so rare to find a trendy spot in the city that is not a club and that you can still dance. The DJ was great, people were dancing and they even had a video DJ projecting movie scenes and images above the dance floor to the beat of the music. The event is free and I got free champagne left and right, although that's just because I know people (who's the elite yelper now bitches).
Oh another awesome perk: You can drink outside while smoking a cigarette and overlooking the water. Where else can you do THAT in Boston? Had it been 20 degrees warmer with more fake breast implants and I would have sworn I was back home in Miami Beach.

Anyway, the cocktail list is beautiful. At $15 each it will take you back a bit, but it's worth it if you're looking for a memorable night. I had
1. Glass of soma Napa valley Cab (excellent)
2. Pomegranite Martini (too sweet but delicious)
3. Some holiday specialty martini (can't remember by this point in the night)
4. Something else...
They have an Engagement Martini that cost over $12,000. It's made with the finest liquors and comes with a diamond ring, two night stay in the hotel and some extra goodies. I've never seen anything like that.
The space, with the live jazz, high ceiling and the hand carved wooden walls totally transports you to a time people REALLY knew how to kick it in style. The Oak Room is absolutely grand and romantic. I actually saw a guy propose. Cute.
I'll go back to try the food and see if they earn the 5th star. I'm sure they will
ANYWAY, Ligaya rules for putting this together and letting BuyYourFriendADrink.com party with the elite crowd.
PS: The Good Life burger is ridiculous- Delicious with a hugengous (huge and humongous together) mountain of rosemary fries.

I waited fro 30 minutes during the Sunday snow storm to check out what the fuzz was all about and all I have to say is...Holy Pancakes! I got this thing called the Ben's Thunder- 4 banana pancakes (home made batter), with raspberries, strawberries, tons of whip cream and coconut flakes. It was life changing.
Plus I made a new friend while waiting for a table. Her name is Meg and we ate together. My next pancake experience will probably be the ginger strawberry thing every keeps talking about. They should really expand.
The slices are HUGE!
